Weekly Quote 9/52

No such thing as spare time, no such thing as free time, no such thing as down time. All you got is life time. Go.

-Henry Rollins

Everyone is always complaining about how we don’t have enough time to do anything but just by complaining we are wasting so much time. If you combine all the time you spend on complaining or waiting for something you had so much more time.
We are a generation of “later”, we wait until the time for something is almost over and then jump into the work and once it is done you feel like you have all the time in the world again. But why do we do it like that? It would be so much easier to make small steps at a time than to do everything all at once.
When you are busy all you wish for is to have some free time. But what is it that you do in your free time or your spare time? Netflix and chill?!
I don’t want to say that it is not important to relax once in a while because it really is. You can’t run on full speed all the time. But you can try to make the most out of life.
You will realise that there is only life time. It comes with ups and downs. And for everyone it is different, some people have more downs than others but in the end it is the perspective how you see it and what you make out of it. It doesn’t help to compare people with one another because everyone has different struggles and often they are not seen.
There is something important to learn from people who have almost nothing. Although they are living under conditions that are much worse than ours they are often the ones who see positivity in smaller things.
We are always expecting so much and get disappointed so easily but that is just because we set so high standards. It doesn’t help; it only makes everything so much harder.
If you are doing things in life that you are not enjoying, by the way I’m not talking about things like emptying the dishwasher or doing homework, you are always searching for more. And it is true, that we should try because life can only be better if you try, success only comes through trying.
But it doesn’t mean that you can escape every bad situation it just means that you shouldn’t accept it the way it is, you have to work for change. That is part of the life time.
But it is our decision how we spend our life time, if we spend it complaining and searching for the negative things or if we enjoy our life and see positivity through all the negativity.
In our world the negativity in most cases overweighs the positive side but it doesn’t mean that that is the way it should be. It can be hard because in our society people who are hopeful and looking for the positive side are often mistaken for being naïve.
But I think that shows how things have become. I agree that being negative is easier because in most situations that part is right in front of you as for the positive side you have to dig deeper.
Mistakes are made to learn from.
It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t complain because in the end that would destroy you, no one can bottle everything up. It’s okay to complain about the weather; maybe it is raining but do it a few times and not every time it rains. You would waste your time.
I think that life time is about enjoying the small things and finding beauty in them instead of wasting our time with things we don’t enjoy and only certain things we can do to be happy.
Happiness can be found everywhere.
Only you can decide what the source of it is and it doesn’t have to be the same thing at all times. You change and your life changes with you. There are dark times in life but only then you truly realise what the good times are.
You are the creator of your life and how you spend it. Make the most of it!
