Earth Hour 2016 in Berlin

Hello fellow Globetrotters!

Maybe you noticed that we had´t had a post on Wednesday, so we will have this one right now. Yesterday evening was the Earth Hour all over the world.  You do not know what the Earth Hour is? It is a movement uniting people all over the world to protect the planet. Organized by the WWF. It started 2007 in Sydney, Australia as a “lights-off” event and growed since then to a movement reaching over 7000 cities and towns worldwide. If you want to know more, then you can visit this website.
It is a sign everyone can make at home or like Janet did, with a lot of people.

lights on

This is the Brandenburger Tor as you may know it. Lights are on and it shines bright. But at 8.30 pm the lights went off.

for a living planet

We had a globe made of moss, lovely to look at and with and important message: For a living planet!

Lights out

That is the Brandenburger Tor when the lights were out. Still a wonderful sight, isn´t it?

lights out!

Yes, fellow Globetrotters. That´s it. I just wanted to give you an overview about what happened yesterday evening and how important events like this are. We just got one planet and this one we have to protect.

If you want to see more pictures from the Earth Hour you can look for the #EarthHour or the #EarthHour2016.
Some pictures are available on our Instagram account or on our Twitter account.
